I met Weisman at a Houston conference for nonprofits, where she was the keynote. Her keynote was amazing. It was interesting and the stories and examples were vivid and on target. I am a sucker for a masterful story teller. I have never failed to be impressed with their written work. Weisman delivered. The book is 192 pages and each page is filled with useful information. As the head of a nonprofit in Houston, my biggest concern has been funding. This book gave me some great ideas and answered many of the questions that I had.
Weisman has 9 short chapters and ends with helpful websites, books, and a list of great publications like Harvard Business Review, The Nonprofit Times, Chronicle of Philanthrophy, and Nonprofit World Magazine. There is also a great list of fundraising books. Among them: Let’s Have Lunch Together (How to Reach Out and Build More Powerful Relationships), People to People Fundraising: Social Networking and Web 2.0 for Charities, and Donor-Centered Fundraising.
It is a compact book and very easy to read. It avoids technical details and is a great launching pad for nonprofit managers to keep handy. Fundraising Superheroes! should interest a large audience: participants in nonprofits, managers, fundraisers, board members and students interested in working with a NPO.

I am a huge fan of Carol Weisman’s work. Her book Raising Charitable Children inspired my family to choose 2 charities and focus our donations and volunteer time there. So it just made sense to me to give those same charities a copy of Carol’s new book, FUNDRAISING SUPERHEROES. The response from both organizations was sheer gratitude. One board president went right out and got each member of his team a copy of Carol’s book AND superhero capes! The other board president went straight to his national organization and is working to get FUNDRAISING SUPERHEROES to every board member of every chapter worldwide. It’s simply an amazing book that can help you achieve awe-inspiring results for the causes that matter most.
